Souryadeep Bhattacharyya is a well known name among the new generation of Indian classical musicians. He started his musical journey at the tender age of four years under the tutelage of sarodiya late Sri Jayanta Roy Chowdhury. Souryadeep is at present a premier "Gandabandhan" disciple of the legendary sarodiya Pt.Alok Lahiri under Guru-Shishya Parampara. He has an unique and versatile playing style encompassing the Maihar, Shahjahanpur and Gwalior gharanas of sarod.
Souryadeep is also the “Best All Round Graduate” across all disciplines of Jadavpur University and the “Best All Round Post-Graduate” from IIT Kanpur where he completed his MTech in Chemical Engineering in 2012.
