WELCOME
Souryadeep Bhattacharyya is a well-known name among the new generation of Indian classical sarod players. An empaneled sarod artist of the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) and an All India Gold medalist in Instrumental Music, Souryadeep is a premier "Gandabandhan" disciple of the legendary sarod artist Guru Pt. Alok Lahiri and also takes regular musical guidance from his Gurudada, the brilliant sarod artist Sri Abhisek Lahiri. Souryadeep, like his Gurus, has a unique playing style blending together the different gharanas (styles) of sarod. A versatile musician, Souryadeep has also been an integral part of several World Music collaborations across various genres.

PT.ALOK LAHIRI
Pt. Alok Lahiri is one of the best known sarod maestros of India. His playing reflects a subtelty, aesthetic and nostalgic spirituality. The beauty and originality of his sarod playing has captivated many listeners across the world.
Pt. Lahiri is a President’s Gold Medal winner for musical excellence in 1975. He has since played across the world engaging himself in the propagation of Hindustani Classical Music.
He has performed in the ‘Europe Parliament’ in Strasbourg and Cannes World Music Festival, France as the first Indian musican. His son & disciple Abhisek Lahiri has also risen to prominence as a well known Sarod player today, representing the fourth generation of this musical family.
